Sawyer [from Milwaukee], had been an invalid for fifteen years; pronounced incurable as I had chronic and organic diseases that would not yield to medicine or treatment of any material nature; and on three separate occasions my life had been despaired of and I had faced death, but had rallied and continued suffering until a relapse into another hopeless and dangerous condition.
