Pakistan’s prime minister said Thursday that talks with the domestic arm of the Taliban have started, though he gave no details about who was taking part or what was on the agenda. Nawaz Sharif’s comments came during a meeting in London with the British deputy prime minister and were released in a statement by the Pakistani High Commission there.

Prosecutor Andrew Edis said the relationship between the two powerful editors – both former top Rupert Murdoch aides and associates of Prime Minister David Cameron – goes to the heart of the case’s key question: Who knew what during years of illicit activity at Murdoch’s News of the World and Sun tabloids?
