About the Authors

Born into a British family living in Shanghai, China, Isabel Ferguson spent part of her childhood as a prisoner of war in a Japanese internment camp during World War II. Boarding school in England followed, after which she earned a degree in history from Edinburgh University, as well as a graduate degree in education from Boston University.
